Why does the Steam Client for MacOS does not support case-se

Hello,



I went through a long painful support to figure out that the steam client for mac os does not support case-sensitiv filesystems. There where not even a error message. I posted the out put of the steam client to support. They recommended multiple times to reinstall the client. So I did probably 20-30 times. Deleted the Applications support folder etc.

However after I had a deeper look into the Steam client log output I noticed a couple of file not founds. So I assumed there is a problem. I asked the support about it and if it is possible that there is a prob with the case-senstive file system. I had this problem with another program as well . However, they confirmed the problem. Now, my question is why does it not support case-sensitiv file system. Newer mac are formatted case-insensitiv but people like me who are longterm user and people who maintain there os (continuously updating) run into this problem because I believe that it just was never tested and I believe this is possible to fix. any suggestions?
